William Saveall

William Saveall lived in Mountnessing, having been born in East Horndon. When the war broke out he enlisted at Warley and joined the 1st Battalion Essex Regt as a private, number 21500. He was the son of William Saveall, of Norsey Farm Cottage, Billericay. His mother, Elizabeth had pre deceased him.l
William was killed in action on the Western Front on 16th August 1917 and is remembered on the Tyne Cot Memorial Panel 98 to 99. He was fighting in the battle of Langemarck north of Ypres
