Charles
Frederick Norman Webb was a private in the 1st Batt. Duke of Cambridge's Own
(Middlesex Regt). He was born in South Hanningfield and enilsted in Warley,
Brentwood. He was killed in action 23rd April 1917 aged 30 and is buried in the
Heninel-Croisilles Road Cemetery. |
The 21st
Division captured Heninel on 12 April 1917 and advanced eastwards on the two
following days. The 33rd Division then took over the attack. These two
divisions are largely represented in the cemetery. This was the second Battle
of the Scarpe 23- 24th April 1917 |
